Although we had seen a start with major expansions in C3 being released in Big Box 7, it took a while before confirmation was available on this one being released in a stand-alone box. Until we receiveda hint from the owners of Hans im Glück during the Carcassonne Festival in 2024, saying “something big is going to happen in 2025″….
We soon confirmed this was the release of all 10 major expansions in C3, set to be released at the Carcassonne Festival in 2025, with subsequent release in shops.
Expansion 8, called Castles & Bridges, brings some familiar elements with new rules. Bazaars are no longer, Castles work slightly simpler, barns are now tokens, and bridges are now grey! Although it looks very different, this one suits well for people who are familiar with the previous versions.
