2006

A set to get you going with everything you need for endless combinations and hours of fun playing the game! This was also the first appearance of watermarks, which made it easy to see which tiles belonged to which expansion while sorting out tiles after a big game.

Big Box 3

2010

This box is quite similar to the previous box. Only Count, King and Robber was swapped out for Bridges, Castles and Bazaars; the most recent major expansion!

The Royal Gift 1

2013

The contents of a 2011 expansion bundle were combined with the Base Game to create Russia’s first Big Box. No fancy inlay like other big boxes, just the tiles, rules and figures!

Big Box 5

2014

This final C1 Big Box returned to the old format of having five expansions. It was notable for adding vineyards and sheep to the River tiles, and for including two new player colours.

  • Base Game (modified version with additional Wheel of Fortune symbols on some tiles)
  • River III (special edition of River I with vineyards and printed sheep)
  • Exp. 1 – Inns & Cathedrals (including 8 50/100 points tiles instead of 6)
  • Exp. 2 – Traders & Builders (without the cloth bag for tiles)
  • Exp. 9 – Hills & Sheep (without the cloth bag for sheep and wolf tokens)
  • The Wheel of Fortune (different version than the standalone version)
  • Sets of pink and purple figures for players 7th/8th

Big Box 6

2017

With the introduction of the new C2 artwork style, the publishers returned to the expansion configuration of Big Box 4 with the seven mini expansions. The addition of the River and Abbot brought the total up to eleven.

Big Box 7

2021

The configuration of the previous Big Box was maintained once again, while the artwork was upgraded once again to the new C3 style. This Big Box was notorious for having several tile and meeple placement errors on the cover.
