No boxes were physically harmed in the making of this comparison.

You’ll find that all pictures on this site are pictures of actual boxes in our collection. We believe we have every version of the Count, King & Robber expansion in the First Edition in the German language. If you are not sure which box you have, have a look below or contact us and we’ll be able to tell you!

First printing

2007

The Count, King and Consorts is a compilation of several mini expansions which had been released over the years. King&Scout was a boxed mini, with also a mini expansion for the Hunters&Gatherers game. The River 2 expands on the options for a river to start the game, including a volcano for those who play with the Dragon! The Count of Carcassonne was a popular boxed mini, now seen in this compilation. Heretics and Shrines was completely new for this release, and was later released as a promo in the Spielbox magazine, as well as being included in the boxed mini Cult, Siege and Creativity.

This expansion was actually one where HiG was not the first to release! A year earlier a box was released by Finnish publisher Lautapelit, containing a compilation of the Count, River 2 and the King&Scout mini expansions. HiG has taken this idea and refined it in order to release this box! Lautapelit numbered their box as Expansion 5 (as it was even before the Abbey&Mayor there), which they kept in their reprint later)

Second printing

2010

Differences can be very small, and the devil is in the details. This box is an example of just this. The main standout for this printing is the fact that the HiG logo has been updated to their 2009 logo. Other than that, the box is the same as the first printing.

Third printing

2015

Although the C2 artwork was already being released, some small batches of C1 were still being printed! This is an example of that! The second printing of the Count, King & Robber expansion saw similar updates to the box as we’ve seen with other expansions. The blue ‘C’ in the logo, the added line of “Die 6. Erweiterung” (The sixth expansion) and an update to the layout on the back of the box. It took a while for us to find this one, but it has been part of our collection for years, with many more years to come!
