No boxes were physically harmed in the making of this comparison.

You’ll find that all pictures on this site are pictures of actual boxes in our collection. We believe we have every version of the Traders & Builders expansion in the First Edition in the Dutch language. If you are not sure which box you have, have a look below or contact us and we’ll be able to tell you!

First printing

2003

999 Games, local publisher for many board games in the Netherlands and Belgium, released their first printing of the Traders & Builders expansion in 2003, very soon after the release of the expansion in German.

The box follows the German design, with Dutch writing for all text. Interestingly enough, the rules in this box came in both Dutch and French. As 999 Games also distributes the game in Belgium, this allows for them to serve more new players.

Second printing

2013

In 2013, the re-design of many Carcassonne boxes also reached the Traders & Builders expansion release from 999 Games. The box sees an updated design, with some more information shared. 999 Games also liked to include a red stripe on the front with a QR code, leading to the rules for the expansion. This code unfortunately no longer works.

It took a while for us to find this one! We came across it on a secondhand website, and after some confusion between us and the seller, we managed to get this one in!
