No boxes were physically harmed in the making of this comparison.

You’ll find that all pictures on this site are pictures of actual boxes in our collection. We believe we have every version of the First Edition base game of Carcassonne in the Thai language. If you are not sure which box you have, have a look below or contact us and we’ll be able to tell you!

Swan Panasia, first printing

2014

Swan Panasia wanted to expand (pun intended) the game of Carcassonne in more countries, and Thailand was next!

The Thai box was modelled after the third printing of the game by Swan Panasia, but of course, included all text in Thai.

Interestingly enough, the sides of the inner box show promotional images of the first 2 major expansions in Thai. When we saw that, we contacted Swan Panasia to ask if they were indeed released and if there was any chance we could add them to our collection. They replied very quickly, sharing that they were planned, but as the game was not as popular as expected, these expansions were never released in Thai. We would love to one day find some of the trial boxes for these if they were ever made!
